Sean Ulmer, CA

President

Sean Ulmer, Bidell’s President, brings nearly three decades of experience in natural gas compression. He joined Bidell in 2010 as President and previously held executive roles at other gas compression companies where, at different times, he oversaw global rental fleets, mechanical service divisions, and low horsepower compression businesses. Mr. Ulmer also has extensive experience in the area of mergers and acquisitions.

Drawing on his industry experience and diverse skill set, Mr. Ulmer spearheads Bidell with a strategic vision, guaranteeing the company stays ahead of the curve in innovation and excellence within the natural gas compression industry.

Mat Clark

Vice President, Sales and Applications

With a career spanning over two decades in the oil and gas sector, Mr. Clark brings extensive expertise to his role. Since joining Bidell in 2003, he has cultivated a diverse skill set in the natural gas compression industry, encompassing, project management, applications and initial package design, leasing fleet management and coordination, contract negotiations, and sales.

Before his tenure at Bidell, Mr. Clark occupied multiple roles at a compression company, where he oversaw the management of their lease fleet comprising gas compression and process equipment, ultimately transitioning into a direct sales capacity. Prior to this, he held a role at an engineering firm, focusing on project management.

Mr. Clark is an alumnus of the Petroleum Engineering Technology program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). His educational background, coupled with his hands-on experience and leadership, underpins his strategic approach to sales and applications within the dynamic energy industry landscape.

Gana Murthy, P.Eng, MBA

Vice President, Manufacturing North America

Gana Murthy joined Bidell in January 2014 as an Engineering Manager, rising to Vice President of Manufacturing for Bidell’s Canadian operations in January 2017, and US operations in 2019. With over a decade of experience, he’s a seasoned leader in engineering and manufacturing.

Previously, Mr. Murthy served as Director of Engineering at Exterran Water Solutions and held pivotal roles at Sulzer Chemtech Ltd., including General Manager of its Canadian division. Mr. Murthy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta, and holds an MBA.

Throughout his career, Mr. Murthy has driven excellence in quality and cost leadership, making him an invaluable asset to Bidell, ensuring the company’s innovation and operational efficiency.

George Kobsar

Vice President, Parts & Service

George Kobsar has been in the natural gas compression industry since 1997, joining Bidell Gas Compression in 2010 as the Vice President, Parts and Service.

He began his career at another compression company, holding roles of increasing responsibility, including Parts Technician, Parts Manager, Warehouse Manager and then General Parts Manager. He then moved companies and was hired as a Branch Manager for Toromont Energy in Lloydminster and then went to work for Husky Energy as a Mechanical Maintenance Planner.

George completed his Journeyman Parts Technician certificate in 1996 at Lakeland College and attended Queen’s School of Business, completing the Operational Leadership Program in 2011, and most recently attended The Haskayne School of Business, completing the Strategic Leadership Development program in 2021.
